Martin - Bass / vocals
One of the shortest people in music, Martin has been playing the bass since seeing an early performance from Flintlock on tv. Despite his small stature, his exceptionally long arms have helped him conquer this instrument, as well as providing him with a lucrative side job as a stunt double in caveman films.
We caught up with him on the set of "It Came Out of Maldon"...
1.Biggest influences on your playing?
A desperate lack of sex as a teenager meant a lot of time to practise (the bass, that is).
2. Desert Island Album?
Nope, too difficult. Perhaps Derek & Clive’s Ad Nauseum for a laugh though.
3.Who or what would you put in Room 101?
DJ’s. Speed cameras. Pub landlords, Jade Goodie, John Prescott and Victoria Beckham (preferably chained together for company). Terrorism. Big Brother. Direct mail. The Halifax Building Society’s TV ad campaigns. New Year’s Eve. I could go on… oh, and possibly The Lodge occasionally.
4. Cheese or chocolate?
Tough one. But, chocolate please.
5.If you weren’t in a band, what would you be doing with your spare time?
Inventing 'Cheesychocs'.
6. Most overused phrase?
"Where's Greg?"
7.Essential item on stage (apart from your instrument you idiot)
Electricity? And some space.
8. Tell us a joke
Editors Note: The joke submitted by Mr. Little, while hilarious, cannot possibly be printed on a family website. We are still waiting for a more wholesome one...
9. Best gig you've done?
Hopefully the next one! Some of the shows at The Marne and The Lodge have been particularly good with Graffiti. Opening our first Rock Fest at The Marne was a blast (2003?). Possibly my toughest gig was when I used to do bass clinics to hundreds of bass players. My end of the stage stank a bit…
10. I am the REAL star of Graffiti because...
I know my place.
